In contemporaneity with the Grand Sasso Storytelling Countries Festival, from 26 to 28 June, A Love Supreme – Capestrano Jazz Encounters. A music review born in 2023 that stands out for its artistic quality and its vocation to combine jazz, classical, and contemporary music with refined and unconventional programmes, driven by authentic musical and cultural research, becoming a benchmark event on the national/international music festival scene and an opportunity to enhance the historical and landscape heritage of Capestrano and the Tirino Valley.
The fourth edition 2026 celebrates the centenary of the birth of the great saxophonist John Coltrane, to whom the festival is inspired, with a programme that will recall some of his most significant works.
The trio consisting of Dimitri Grechi Espinoza (sax), Aziz Şenol Filiz (Ney flute and bendir drum) and Guido Zorn (double bass), will offer an intense and meditative re-imagining of the masterpiece A Love Supreme by John Coltrane.
The Greek pianist Tania Giannouli with inspired and hypnotic interpretive depth, he will traverse his album with improvisations Just with connections to the work of John Coltrane.
The jazz pianist Claudio Filippini, will propose a journey through improvisation, electronica, impressionism, Coltrane, and elements of his conception of jazz, which he has called Filippismo.
