Cataldi Madonna Winery

The wine-growing business began in 1920 with Baron Luigi Cataldi Madonna, four generations ago.

However, it was the son, Antonio, who first bottled in 1975. In 1990, his grandson Luigi took over, continuing the family project of product characterisation and territorial valorisation. Until the early 1990s, the Cataldi Madonna winery was virtually the sole occupant of the entire Ofena vineyard area.

Today the company comprises 30 hectares (planted exclusively with native and traditional grape varieties such as Montepulciano, Pecorino, and Trebbiano), all located within the municipality of Ofena between 320 and 440 metres above sea level. In the vineyard, the aim is to protect the varietal expressiveness of the grapes, primarily through canopy management. In the cellar, the goal is to preserve the character, sapidity, and freshness present in our grapes within the wine.
