The Pagliare di San Silvestro and del Colle represent one of the most evocative testimonies of the rural landscape of the Apennines. They are ancient settlements, now largely abandoned, that tell a story of agriculture, sheep farming and community life. These settlements were not simply seasonal shelters, but real housing systems linked to autonomous family economies, based on the cultivation of cereals, vines and olive trees. The structures, built in local stone, still preserve typical elements such as stables, ovens, cellars and farmyards. The village is set in a wide and evocative landscape, overlooking the Tirino Valley, where today memory, abandonment and attempts at recovery and enhancement coexist.
